Pools & Outdoor Living in Mansfield, TX

The whole backyard as one coordinated system — not just the pool.

Mansfield sets a high bar for backyards. Communities like South Pointe were built around resort-style pools, ponds, and miles of trail, and Walnut Creek's golf-course lots come with views worth building toward — so a private pool, covered patio, or outdoor kitchen isn't so much a luxury here as the way the market already lives. The Remo Guys designs and builds outdoor living as an Allen-based design-build serving Mansfield about 55 miles south. It's a destination market for us, and we plan these projects as fully-designed builds rather than a string of unsupervised subcontractor visits.

Pools, patios, and outdoor kitchens as one project

The outdoor projects that actually work are the ones designed together. A pool, a covered patio with an outdoor kitchen, and the grading and drainage that tie them to the house are one system, not three separate purchases — the pool shell, the gas line to the grill, the electrical for lighting and pumps, and the patio slab all have to be sequenced in the right order. Run as separate hires, the deck gets poured before the gas is stubbed and someone's cutting concrete a month later.

What Eagle Ford clay does to a backyard

The same expansive Eagle Ford clay that moves Mansfield's house foundations moves everything you add outside. A pool shell, a patio slab, and an outdoor-kitchen footing all sit on soil that swells and shrinks with the seasons, and drainage is the whole ballgame — water pooling against the house or the pool beam is what turns clay into cracks. We design the grade to carry water away deliberately, so the hardscape stays put through the wet-dry cycle.

The trade permits behind the fun part

The enjoyable part of a backyard rides on serious trade work, and Mansfield permits it accordingly. Pool and structure plans go through the city's ePlans ProjectDox review, while the single-trade permits — the electrical bonding a pool requires by code, the gas line for a kitchen or fire feature, the plumbing — are pulled through the MyGov portal, with the contractor and trades registered there first. Where plans are reviewed, Mansfield's own rule applies: the top-right corner of each sheet stays blank inside the border, a 4.5-inch square kept clear for the city's electronic approval stamp. Pool electrical bonding in particular is life-safety work — done by state-licensed electricians and inspected, never a corner to cut.

One team from design to the first swim

An outdoor build touches structure, drainage, gas, water, and power at once. As a general contractor that's insured, bonded, and building since 2019, The Remo Guys holds the whole backyard under one plan — the pool, the hardscape, the covered structure, and the state-licensed trades — so the finished space works as one, and the accountability doesn't scatter across a half-dozen separate contracts.
