Bathroom Remodeling in Sherman, TX

Waterproofing and plumbing built to last decades, then finished beautifully.

The room Sherman homes update last

In a lot of Sherman homes, the bathroom is the room that's been updated least. The city's early-to-mid-century houses — the bungalows and ranches near downtown, the historic homes around Heritage Row and Austin College — often still have a single small, dated bath with original tile, cramped layouts, and plumbing that's decades old. Whether you want to modernize a hall bath, build a spa-like primary suite, or make a bathroom safer to age in, a remodel is one of the highest-return projects you can do.

What we remodel

  • Primary bath renovations — walk-in showers, freestanding tubs, double vanities, and better lighting and ventilation.
  • Historic-home baths, updated for modern fixtures while respecting the home's original character.
  • Accessibility-focused remodels — curbless showers, grab bars, and comfort-height fixtures, valuable as many longtime Sherman residents choose to stay put.
  • Adding a bath where a growing household (or a new ADU) needs one.

Plumbing, licensed trades, and permits

Bathrooms are plumbing- and electrical-heavy, which is exactly the kind of work Texas regulates at the trade level — so we bring in state-licensed plumbers and electricians for the connections, venting, and circuits that require them. When a remodel relocates fixtures, adds a bathroom, or changes wiring, it needs a permit from Sherman's Development Services / Building Division (317 S. Travis St), submitted through the Self Service Portal the city launched in March 2025 on the Tyler EnerGov system.

Plan for the city's review rhythm: it doesn't begin until all fees are paid, then runs about 15 working days depending on workload, and any resubmittal restarts that 15-business-day clock. We submit complete, correct plans up front so your only bathroom isn't out of service longer than it has to be. The permit has to be pulled by the owner or a contractor registered with the City of Sherman — we're set up to do that, even though we're an Allen-based firm serving Sherman from down US-75 rather than a local branch.

Insured, bonded, and clean

Old plumbing behind old tile is where bathroom projects go sideways, so we open things up carefully and fix what we find — rotted subfloor, failing supply lines, poor venting — before we close the walls. We're insured and bonded, we contain dust and protect the rest of the home, and we hold one schedule from demo to final inspection. For code questions specific to your home, Sherman's building office is at 903-892-7229, and we're glad to take a look first.
