Kitchen Remodeling in The Colony
The kitchen is where The Colony's older homes show their age most. Across The Colony North, The Colony Southwest, Ridgepointe, and the Legend neighborhoods, homes built between 1970 and 1999 tend to have compartmentalized kitchens — walls where families now want islands, and wiring that predates the way we cook and charge everything today. Even newer Tribute homes come to us for kitchens that better fit their owners. A remodel turns that closed-off room into the open, hard-working center of the house.
What we do in a kitchen remodel
We handle the full remodel: opening walls to the living space, custom cabinetry, quartz and stone counters, new plumbing fixtures and lighting, flooring, and the appliance layout that ties it together. As a design-build team, we design the space and build it — so the pretty renderings and the plumbing rough-in actually agree with each other. We sweat the working triangle, the storage, and the outlet placement, not just the finishes.
Permits, electrical, and The Colony's codes
Kitchens are electrical- and plumbing-heavy, which is exactly the work The Colony permits and inspects. The city adopted the 2023 NEC in 2025, and modern kitchen circuits — dedicated appliance runs, GFCI and AFCI protection — are held to that standard. We build with state-licensed electricians and plumbers, pull the permit through the Building Inspections office at 6053 Main Street, and track inspections in the eTRAKiT portal. That means the work behind your walls is documented and code-compliant, which matters when you sell or insure the home. Texas does not license general contractors, so we compete on being insured, bonded, and straight with you — and on the trades we bring.
An Allen design-build serving The Colony
We are based in Allen, roughly 20 miles east and an easy run over on SH 121. The Remo Guys are not a local franchise — we are a design-build firm that works The Colony often and knows its inspectors and its housing stock, from Stewart Peninsula waterfronts to Legend Trails ranches. Bring us your inspiration photos and your frustrations, and we will design a kitchen that fits your home and your budget, then build it clean.
