Pools & Outdoor Living in Lewisville, TX

The whole backyard as one coordinated system — not just the pool.

Pools & Outdoor Living in Lewisville

Life in Lewisville bends toward the water. The city sits at the south end of Lewisville Lake, and even homes a few minutes from the shoreline tend to live outdoors for most of the long North Texas season. The right backyard here depends a lot on which Lewisville you're in. The established lots of Lewisville Valley and the older subdivisions came with room and a canopy of mature trees — space for a real pool, with shade already in place. The newer, more defined yards in Castle Hills and around the city's infill developments reward a tighter, smarter plan, where a covered patio, an outdoor kitchen, or a compact pool does more than a sprawling one would.

Matching the project to the yard

An outdoor living plan is far more than a pool. We design covered patios and pergolas, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and fire pits, and the decking and drainage that tie it all together. In an older Lewisville Valley yard, that often means building carefully around established roots and grade changes. In a newer subdivision, it means making the most of a smaller footprint while respecting the drainage easements and fence lines that come with recent platting. Either way, the region's expansive clay soils drive real decisions about deck substructure and pool engineering — the details that keep a project from cracking or settling after a couple of seasons.

Pools, structures, and the trades

A pool or a substantial outdoor structure is permitted work. Pool builds have to meet barrier and fencing requirements for safety, and the state-licensed electricians and plumbers handle the bonding, equipment, and gas or water lines to code. Covered structures and outdoor kitchens carry their own building, electrical, and plumbing considerations depending on what ties back into the house.

Permitting through MGO Connect

Lewisville runs these permits through one online system. The city's Building Services division at 151 W. Church Street handles residential permits through the MGO Connect (MyGovernmentOnline) portal — application, fees, permit tracking, and inspection requests all in one place — and requires the contractor to be registered in that portal before a permit will issue. We keep our registration current and file under our own MGO account, and homeowners can create an account too to watch the barrier and electrical-bonding inspections clear. Those sign-offs are exactly the records a future buyer will ask to see on a pool.
